Thank you to the REAL NORTON By Symantec. I was told I had 10 days left in my Anti-Virus Subscription. A Norton Technician checked my account with them. I was re-assured, I was now dealing with the true NORTON company. After calling them, I was told once again, the phone number I was given before was not in any way related to them. I was given the correct number for NORTON ANTI - VIRUS. That number is not not related to NORTON ANTI-VIRUS. My internet provider checked the phone number *******741 which I was given (see above). I was told there was nothing wrong with our IP ADDRESS. Next day, I called our Internet service provider. I told him I wanted to check out his credentials before proceeding.

He asked for access to all the computers in the house (from the kids). He told me our IP address was compromised, and that there were other people illegally using it. After gaining access to my computer, he started bringing up files.

Then, he asked me what kind of computer I had and the Internet access.

He then told me to go to and gave me a separate code which I entered. He asked for the Product Key which I gave to him. He gave his name as STEPHEN HOPES, ID # NOR121323. The person who answered said he was a NORTON TECHNICIAN. The FAKE SITE gave me a number to call *******741 to help me fix the problem.

After installing the Product Key, A FAKE NORTON website popped up (I did not realize this was a fake sight at the time) telling me my Product Key was successful, but there was an error, my computer could not download because it was out of date. To be safe, I went to an Office Supply Store and bought A Norton Security Premium package. I was puzzled, as I thought I still had a few days before my subscription expired. This was also preventing me from going on to the site.

There was a pop up telling me it was not safe to use my computer as it had the ZEUS MALWARE VIRUS. When I returned, after a few days, when I tried to get on to my computer, I could not. My question is: What can I do to stop this? It's always from different email address, but it is the same scam over and over. Before I went away on a trip for 5 days, I knew I had a count down of 23 days left on my Norton Anti - Virus Subscription on my home computer. Weird thing is, is who it is sent to yet many other people get the same email. Recently I changed all my passwords as I do yearly so I don't think there is a problem there.Įvery email is from a different person but it's always the same shit, the amount I "owe" or whatever is always different, and usually they are sent to other random email addresses resulting in a chain of emails from other pissed of people. The thing that annoys me the most is that many of these email that gets through is marked as urgent or important so I get a notification from GMAIL that I have a new important email. I've been blocking and reporting these emails, and it seems to work since now I only get one every other day, but I just looked at my spam folder and HOLY SHIT 90% of my spam is now this shit.

For the last 30 days I have been getting emails saying "Your yearly Membership for NORTON PRO has been successfully updated and restored." I'm very familiar with this scam, I do not own Norton, I avoid sketchy websites, I don't open links I'm not familiar with, my computer hasn't had malware or a virus or anything in years.
